“To define, is to confine.”
I would like to compare myself to that of a “late bloomer.” I grew up thinking I would be an art therapist, however, after high school I wanted to continue my families tradition of serving in the Armed Forces. Fast forward 23 years later, and I find myself dealing with separation anxiety and a few other nasty disorders. In late 2013, I took the advice of an old friend and went out of my comfort zone (military perfectionist – summarized), and dove back into the art world, this time, “playing with mud!” I haven’t looked back since. Ceramics has helped me conquer many of my fears, and ceramics, particularly hand building, has helped me find my niche. I create what I know will bring a smile to ones face, with joy and love.
